Lenawee County

Lenawee County’s recycling drop-off site has been the place residents in the county can take plastics #1-7, glass (colored or clear), tin cans, aluminum, cardboard, and paper products for recycling since 2012. The Lenawee County Solid Waste Program also coordinates community collection events to clean up scrap tires, electronics, polystyrene foam, batteries, household hazardous waste, fire extinguishers, packing materials, and other miscellaneous items.

As a rural county, residents' options are minimal so Lenawee's County Solid Waste Program is vital to continue to provide an efficient recycling drop-off site available to all residents. And residents have supported it well! Pretty much every recycling opportunity offered by the county has had high participation. Residents are willing to wait in line for hours to recycle items at collection events and the drop-off site has about 300 visitors daily.
