Michigan Consulting & Environmental

Recycle, MI partner Michigan Consulting & Environmental, headquartered in Mt. Pleasant, helps various groups find cost-effective solutions that effectively transform waste into resources. Many communities and businesses may not have access to the resources or expertise to manage materials sustainably. Even those already entrenched in recycling and composting can always use some extra guidance from experts to grow their networks and increase their material volumes.

Michigan Consulting & Environmental is a team of experts with the knowledge and ability to help organizations manage polluted lands, test soil and water, remove contaminated soil, and develop compost programs. They started out with five employees, but now have a growing team of thirty!

While food waste diversion programs are only one piece of Michigan Consulting & Environmental’s work, it’s something that they take great pride in. Currently, they are working to establish a composting program for food waste in Roscommon County. Michigan Consulting & Environmental frequently works alongside other Recycle, MI partners like My Green Michigan and Speed-Tech Equipment to ensure that communities like those in Roscommon have access to the resources they need to make effective composting possible. They also collaborate with composters directly, utilizing their networks to locate additional sources of food waste.

At the center of their operations is ensuring that implemented programs will be fiscally sustainable long into the future. The team works diligently to identify grants and other funding avenues to ensure the financial health of all of their sustainability initiatives. They’re passionate about helping larger companies “do the right thing” by lessening their impact on the surrounding environment including in-house recycling through Recycle Livingston, their local recycling authority.

As recycling legislation, trends, and markets adapt, Michigan Consulting & Environmental will continue to assist local communities and businesses step-by-step as they optimize their materials management systems and embrace sustainability.
