Unlimited Recycling

Sustainably managing a business’s materials can be challenging. When investing in recycling, business owners may ask: “How should I prepare my materials? How should I train my employees to recycle? What should I do with my more complex waste streams, like e-waste?”

Luckily, many organizations—from nonprofits to large construction firms—have had these questions answered by Unlimited Recycling, a one-stop shop for materials management solutions. Serving Southeast Michigan, Unlimited prides itself on not being a “cookie cutter company.” If they have the ability to help a customer solve a materials-related issue, they’ll do it. Unlimited’s flexibility helped them secure contracts with Corewell Health, University of Michigan Medical Center, and the firm constructing the entrance to the new Gordie Howe bridge.

Whether they’re helping establish a recycling program in an apartment building or tackling the waste and recycling of a large construction project, Unlimited understands that education is a cornerstone for waste reduction and proper recycling. They often go onsite to their clients' facilities to teach employees, residents, and other stakeholders both the “why” and “how” of reducing contamination in recycling streams.

When Unlimited introduced recycling services to a Detroit apartment complex, they teamed up with the Detroit-based nonprofit Green Living Science to host a fun, interactive day of learning at the complex. Residents engaged with sorting games and other activities, creating a buzz of excitement around recycling. For larger projects, Unlimited invests in continuous education to reduce contamination, installing helpful guides and signs as well as conducting onsite visits and training.

Because “unlimited” is in their name, the firm is continuing to push the boundaries of what recycling companies offer. They understand that recycling requires community, and so they began an equipment lending service to help other businesses access the balers, densifiers, and compactors required to make recycling happen. What’s next for Unlimited Recycling? They’re looking into developing a reuse store to find new lives for many of the intact items they manage during their operations. More than just a recycling business, Unlimited Recycling is excited to enter new frontiers of sustainable materials management!
